Sexting – Information for young people

Sexting is when someone takes an indecent image of themselves, and sends it to their friends or boy/girlfriend via a mobile phone or some other form of technology.

Did you know, by sending indecent pictures of a person under 18 on to someone else you could be breaking the law? Also, if you have an indecent image of another young person on your phone, you are also committing an offence.

CEOP, the internet Safety agency have produced a video about the risks of sexting. It tells you how much trouble can be caused by sending an explicit image of yourself by mobile.

Young persons Policing Pledge

It's Your Choice

It's Your Choice is a short film aimed at raising awareness amongst young people about the reality of crime, the importance of reporting it and the very real consequences that they may face should they commit crime.

Mephedrone

Mephedrone has been widely available on the internet and in head shops (commercial premises that specialise in drug paraphernalia and legal highs) up until a change in the law on 16th April 2010.

Commercially available products have been described as Plant Feeder, Bath Salts, Research Chemicals or Not for Human Consumption. Mephedrone is also known as Meow Meow (or Miaow Miaow), MCAT, 4MMC, Drone, Bubbles, Bubble Love, Bounce, Plant Food, Meph, Shake n Vac, Mad Cow.

It is now a Class B drug and is, therefore, illegal. Possession carries a penalty of up to 5 years in prison... supplying it (even to a friend) carries a penalty of up to 14 years!
