What is this site about?
yrspace.info looks at how things around you can affect how you think and feel. It also explores how you can improve life for yourself and those around you by thinking about your actions.
The South West is one of the safest areas in the UK. Devon & Cornwall Constabulary works hard to protect you and your friends. However, there are still things that you can do to help you and others feel safe and more in control. This website suggests ways that you can stay safe and avoid trouble when you are out, at home or even when you are on the internet.

Your local police teams
You may have seen uniformed officers where you live and in your school. Your neighbourhood is policed by regular officers and police community support officers (PCSOs). They work in the community to help reduce crime, tackle antisocial behaviour and make life better for everyone.
PCSOs look very similar to police officers but they have light blue tabs on their shoulders and light blue chequered bands around their hats. They have a number of powers and can detain someone for up to 30 minutes if they are suspected of committing a crime.
Your local community officers are there to help solve any problems which are affecting where you live and they will be happy to talk to you at any time.
